Leaving Ouarzazate around 8am crossing the Ounila Valley through 35km off-road tracks that start after the well known UNESCO Ait Benhaddou Ksar. Ancient caravan roads to cross the High Atlas Mountains towards Marrakesh. Arrival at Telouet around 12:30pm to visit the Kasbah of the Pasha El Glaoui. 20 minute visit. Lunch in a local restaurant. After midday return to Ouarzazate. Arrival around 6pm.

Zagora Desert 380km tour total. 22km off-road. Tour departing from Ouarzazate around 7h30am towards the village of Agdz ( small 20 minutes stop ). By the high passage of Tizi-n-Tinififft (1660 meter of altitude) we’ll take the 22kms tracks which crosses the valley of Draa and its palm plantations. Road towards Zagora and Tamegroute. Visit of the local sacred Zaouia; the manufacture of pottery and old the Koranic library. Heading towards the dunes of Tinfou (arrival at Tinfou around 12h30pm) Return to Zagora to lunch it in a local restaurant. After midday return to Ouarzazate via the wonderful Draa Valley. Arrival at Ouarzazate around 6h30pm.

Continuing our journey through the Valley of the Roses where we’ll have a 15 minute stop in Et Kella M’Gouna. Driving the 50km off-road tracks which crosses the amazing Valley of Roses reaching Ait Youl Kasbah. Continuing until we arrival at the Dades Gorges around 12:30pm. We’ll will walk down the gorges and enjoy the scenarios. Lunch at a local restaurant down in the canyons. After midday return to Ouarzazate. Arrival around 6:30pm.

Merzouga Tour Description

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura Oasis – Kelat M’Gouna – Boulmane – Gorges du Todra – Merzouga

350km + 40km off-road, Leaving Ouarzazate around 7:30am towards Skoura where we’ll have a quick 20 minutes visit of the Amredhyle Kasbah, one of the wonders of the southern “Route of the thousand kasbahs”. Continuing our journey through the Valley of the Roses where we’ll have a 15 minute stop in Et Kella M’Gouna. Heading Boulmane, reaching Tinghir and 20km after, its fabulous canyons, the Gorges du Todra Canyons. Free time to walk around the “gorges”, enjoy the river and the fabulous views. Lunch at a local restaurant. After midday we drive to Tinjedad and Touroug Palm Plantations reaching Erfoud town for a visit of a local fossil craft workshop. Continuing to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi, also known as the Dunes of Merzouga. We now switch from our 4X4 to camels, where you’ll be taken on a camel trekking on the dunes to enjoy the Sun set on the dunes and overnight on a true nomad bivouac. Diner sleeping in bivouac on nomad Berber tents in the middle of the dunes of Merzouga.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarine – Vallee du Draa – Agdz – Ouarzazate

360km + 22km off-road, Early morning departure to enjoy Sun rise on Sahara Desert, camel trekking (camel ride) back to the hotel where the 4X4 are parked. Breakfast and departure towards the Palm Plantation of Tafilalet passing Rissani, the old Alaouite Sahara capital by the ancient Alaouite Sultans. Road to Alnif where lunch is waiting. Visit to Tazzarine and N’kob Oasis. Continuing heading Ouarzazate passing the impressive Draa Valley, Agdz Berber town and the high passage of Ait Saoun at 1660 meters of altitude. Arrival at Ouarzazate around 6pm.
