• Day 1: Ouarzazate → Agdz → Draa Valley → Tinfou Dunes → Zagora.

📝 Sahara Expedition Tour detailed description

✅ Day 1: Ouarzazate → Agdz → Draa Valley → Tinfou Dunes → Zagora

Morning departure to Agdz via the Anti-Atlas (altitude of 1660m), then continuing towards Zagora while passing through the Draa Valley and its procession of palm trees, along with many typical Berber villages. Upon arriving in Zagora, we will pause for lunch, on the spot. The afternoon will consist of traveling towards Tamegroute, in order to visit an old Koranic library. Afterwards, we will drive to the Tinfou Dunes to witness the splendors of the Saharan sunset. Finally, an early-evening dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided by a hotel in Zagora.

✅ Day 2: Zagora → Tizi n’Tfilalet → Tismmoumine → Tafraout Ait Atta

After breakfast, our departure will be made by taking the Paris-Dakar road towards Mharech Valley, taking us through the Tizi n’Tfilalet mountain pass, the hamadas and across the desert plateau. This road also runs alongside Kam-Kam Gorges and a trail taken by ancient dinosaurs. Their remains still stand, after many generations, within the landscape of the Sahara. On this day, we will also have the opportunity to meet local Berber tribes, like the Tismoumin and Tafrouat Aït Atta. Overnight accommodation will be provided at a comfortable hotel, chosen by our staff.

✅ Day 3: Tafraout → Ouzina → Jdayd → Taouz → Merzouga

After breakfast, we will depart by crossing the sandy Oued Ghris. Then, traveling aside lost desert villages, like Ramlia and Ouzina, we will lunch roadside. Next, we will traverse various desert landscapes en-route to Taouz with its incredible rock engravings. Crossing the village of the Gnawa, we will follow the road to the amazing Merozuga Dunes, Erg Chebbi. There, we will exchange our 4X4 for dromedaries, to admire the sunset and spend a night among the dunes. The evening’s dinner and nighttime accommodation will occur in nomad tents under the stars.

✅ Day 4: Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud → Todra Gorge → Ouarzazate

Rising early to enjoy the brilliant-hued sunrise cast over the dunes… After breakfast, we will continue the Morocco tour by returning back, through the dunes at the foot of the desert. Departing in the direction of the huge palm grove of Tafilalet, we will pass through the city of Rissani.
Rissani is the former capital of the Alaouite sultans and the location of the grand souk of the south.
Afterwards, we will arrive in the city of Erfoud. Taking its road towards the Todra Gorges, we will have lunch along the way. Further along this road, we will find the beautiful palm grove of Tinjdad and Tinghir. The afternoon will include passing by Boumalne and Kelaat-M’Gouna, then Skoura where we will visit the Kasbah of Amredhyle. Concluding our journey, we will return along the road to Ouarzazate, ending the tour.
